Illinois Grain Prices in Country Elevators
This is Thursday's report of the grain prices and trends prepared by the
USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.
Illinois country grain prices were sharply higher on Thursday afternoon.
Stronger corn futures helped to pull soybeans and wheat higher. A lower than
expected corn carryout figure fueled today's rally in the futures market.
While the US corn production was estimated to be 10.70 billion bushels in
the USDA's report, the carryout figure was lowered to just 619 million bushels.
In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn
bids 37 cents higher at 7.50-7.63. Soybean bids were 26 to 27 cents higher at
15.17-15.29.
In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were
mostly 35 to 37 cents higher at 7.62-7.76. Soybean bids were 25 to 27 cents
higher at 15.30-15.40.
In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 35 to 36 cents higher
at 7.69-7.85. Soybean bids were 20 to 28 cents higher at 15.23-15.49. Wheat
bids were mostly 15 to 16 cents higher at 8.50-8.66.
