Cash Soft White Wheat - Pacific Northwest: Bids for US 1 Soft White
Wheat, delivered by unit trains and barges to Portland during October
ended the reporting week on Thursday, October 24, at 7.2950-7.3650,
mostly 7.33. Bids were 0.50 of a cent to 5.50 cents per bushel higher
than last Thursday's bids for October delivery of 7.29-7.31, mostly
7.30. White club wheat premiums for this week ranged from 40 to 50
cents per bushel, mostly 45 cents. One year ago bids for US 1 Soft
White Wheat and white club wheat for October delivery were 8.80-8.95,
mostly 8.88. Nearby bids for US 1 Soft White wheat began the reporting
week on Friday at the weekly high of mostly 7.4075, then fell to mostly
7.3625 on Monday, before falling again to mostly 7.3475 on Tuesday. On
Wednesday, bids rose slightly to mostly 7.3575 and ended the reporting
week today (Thursday), at mostly 7.33. New confirmed export sales of
white wheat this week were limited to South Korea. Forward month bids
for soft white wheat were as follows: November 7.3450-7.4150, December
7.3450-7.4650, January 7.42-7.52, and February 7.47-7.57. One year
ago, forward month bids for soft white wheat were as follows: November
8.94-9.00, December 9.04-9.15, January and February 9.10-9.20.
Outstanding US white wheat and barley sales on this report are for
the week ending October 3. The next Export Sales Report will be
released next Thursday, October 31st. Note that this report will
combine all export sales activity for weeks ending October 10th,
October 17th, and October 24th.
Outstanding U.S. white wheat export sales as of October 3, 2013 for
the marketing year beginning June 1, 2013 and ending May 31, 2014,
totaled 859.8*** thousand MT compared to 908.0 thousand MT on September
19, 2013, and 729.0 thousand MT one year ago. Outstanding white wheat
export sales for the 2013-2014 marketing year were to the following
countries in 1000 MT: Japan 225.3, South Korea 160.4, Philippines
125.5, Indonesia 55.0, Yemen 55.0, Guatemala 52.1, Thailand 22.0,
Nigeria 19.2, Taiwan 11.0, Hong Kong 1.5, Vietnam 1.3, Burma 0.8,
Canada 0.8, Mexico 0.5, Malaysia 0.3 and total unknown 129.1.
Accumulated white wheat export shipments as of October 3, 2013, in 1000
MT for the 2013-2014 marketing year, totaled 1534.5 compared to
1751.6*** one year ago.
Outstanding U.S. barley export sales as of October 3, 2013 for the
marketing year beginning June 1, 2013 and ending May 31, 2014, in 1000
MT, totaled 51.1 compared to 51.3 on September 19, 2013 and 22.4 one
year ago. Outstanding barley export sales for the 2013-2014 marketing
year in 1000 MT were to the following countries in 1000 MT: Japan
48.8, South Korea 1.8, and Taiwan 0.5. Accumulated barley export
shipments as of October 3, 2013 were 52.3 thousand MT compared to 97.5
one year ago.
Coarse feeding grains: Bids for US 2 Yellow Corn delivered to
Portland in single rail cars were not available. Bids for US 2 Yellow
Corn truck delivered to the inland feeding areas of Yakima, Washington,
and Hermiston, Oregon were also not available. Bids for US 2 Heavy
White Oats for October delivery were 260.00, 5.00 higher than last
Thursday's noon bids.
