Daily National Grain Market Summary
Grain and soybean bids traded sharply higher. Wheat continued to find
support from Friday’s bullish USDA report, dry and cooler weather in the Plains.
Corn also found momentum from the positive USDA report, along with spillover
support from other grains. Soybeans saw gains on concerns of drier outlook for
parts of South America and overnight export announcement. Wheat was 5-18 cents
higher. Corn was 12-15 cents higher. Sorghum was 27 cents higher. Soybeans
were 34-49 cents higher.
Grains inspected for export for week ending January 10, 2013: Wheat totaled
10.6 million bushels, dn 2.8 million bushels; corn 9.2 million bushels, up 1.9
million bushels; sorghum 363 thousand bushels, up 196 thousand bushels and
soybeans 39.1 million bushels, dn 900 thousand bushels compared to a week ago.
Year to Date: Wheat totaled 539.4 dn 81.6 million; corn 272.4 dn 339.9 million;
sorghum 32.9 million up 1.8 million, and soybeans 855.9 up 215.7 million. Crop
marketing years begin June 1 for wheat and September 1 for corn, sorghum, and
soybeans.
