Illinois Grain Prices in Country Elevators
This is Thursday's report of the grain prices and trends prepared by the USDA
and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.
Illinois country grain prices were mixed on Thursday afternoon, with soybeans
and wheat higher and corn lower. Traders reacted to the updated Supply Demand
figures from the USDA and weekly export sales numbers. The USDA lowered the
2011-2012 soybean carryout to 210 million bushels, while the Supply Demand
report increased the carryout for corn to 851 million bushels. Weekly export
sales figures for soybeans were over trade expectations at 1.82 million tonnes.
In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn
bids 14 to 24 cents lower at 5.97-6.10. Soybean bids traded 18 to 25 cents
higher at 14.14-14.33.
In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were
20 cents lower at 6.06-6.26. Soybean bids were 24 to 27 cents higher at
14.31-14.43.
In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 19 to 20 cents
lower at 6.11-6.34. Soybean bids were 25 to 27 cents higher at 14.39-14.58.
Wheat bids were steady to 1 cent higher at 5.76-5.98.
