Minneapolis Weekly Grain Summary
Prices for the week ending Thursday January 17, 2013
**The prices for spring wheat on the spot rail market are now quoted
delivered Chicago/Beyond.**
The milling wheat market was higher this past week. Supply was extremely light
as the country was busy shipping corn and soybeans and the mills were full.
**Spring Wheat: Prices are for US 1 Dark Northern Spring Wheat with less
than 2.0 pct Vomitoxin. The 14's were 30.00 to 33.00 cents higher from 9.4425N-
9.5925; the basis was steady to 3 cents higher from 75N-90 cents over the March
futures delivered Chicago/Beyond. The 15's were 17.25 to 20.00 to 45.00 cents
higher from 9.3925N-9.9425N; the basis was 10 cents lower to 15 cents higher
from 70N-125N cents over the March futures delivered Chicago/Beyond. The 12 pct
protein Hard Red Winter Wheat had no quote. The 20 day to-arrive truck delivery
for 12 pct protein HRW bid into Minneapolis was 40.50 cents higher at 8.9200;
the basis was steady at 55 cents over the Kansas City March futures.
Durum: Choice and Balance Milling Durum had no quote. Both Minneapolis and
Duluth terminal durum continued to have no quote.
Rye: US 1 Rye had no quote on the spot market. The to-arrive Rye had no bid.
Barley: Robust Malting Barley 60 pct or better plump max. 2.0 ppm vomitoxin
had no quote. The to-arrive bid for 1.0 ppm vomitoxin rail delivered to
Minneapolis was 5 cents lower at 7.05. Feed Barley delivered into Duluth closed
the week with no bid. Feed Barley delivered into Minneapolis was 15 cents
higher with a bid of 5.15.
Corn: US 2 Yellow Corn was 24.75 cents higher at 7.0350; the basis was 1 cent
lower at 21 cents under the Chicago March futures. The to-arrive bids for corn
are: February at 7.0850, March at 7.1050; April at 7.1225, May at 7.1125, June
at 7.0600 and July 7.0500.
Oats: US 2 or better Oats had no quote. The To-arrive bids for oats were
15.50 cents higher from 6.8000-4.0000, the basis was steady from 25-45 cents
over the March futures.
Soybeans: US 1 Yellow Soybeans had no bid until River Open. The to-arrive
bids for soybeans are: April at 14.0575, May at 14.0575, June at 13.9700 and
July at 13.9500.
Sunflowers: The NuSun Sunflowers in Enderlin were 35 cents higher at 22.40;
Fargo was 35 cents higher at 22.40.
