Minneapolis Weekly Grain Summary
Prices for the week ending Thursday April 25, 2013
**The prices for spring wheat on the spot rail market are now quoted
The milling wheat market was mixed this past week. Supply continued to be
relatively light. Demand was light to moderate. Most mills have their needs
met through prior contracts.
**Spring Wheat: Prices are for US 1 Dark Northern Spring Wheat with less
than 2.0 pct Vomitoxin. The 14's was 4.50 cents lower at 9.2325, the basis was
5 cents higher at 115 cents over the May futures delivered Chicago/Beyond. The
15's were 15.50 to 25.50 cents higher from 9.4325-9.6825N; the basis was 25 to
35 cents higher from 135-160N cents over the May futures delivered
Chicago/Beyond. The 12 pct protein Hard Red Winter Wheat on the spot floor had
no quote. The 20 day to-arrive truck delivery for 12 pct protein HRW bid into
Minneapolis was 17.75 cents higher at 8.4650; the basis was 85 cents over the
Kansas City July futures.
Durum: Choice and Balance Milling Durum had no quote. Both Minneapolis and
Duluth terminal durum continued to have no quote.
Rye: US 1 Rye had no quote on the spot market. The to-arrive Rye had no bid.
Barley: Robust Malting Barley 60 pct or better plump max. 2.0 ppm vomitoxin
had no quote. The to-arrive bid for 1.0 ppm vomitoxin rail delivered to
Minneapolis was 5 cents lower at 6.70 for May. Feed Barley delivered into
Duluth closed the week with no bid. Feed Barley delivered into Minneapolis was
10 cents lower with a bid of 4.95.
Corn: US 2 Yellow Corn was 2.00 cents lower at 6.2950 with the basis at 5 cents
over the July futures. The to-arrive bids for corn are: May 6.3150; June
6.3050; July 6.2650; October at 4.9025 and November at 4.9425.
Oats: US 2 or better Oats had no quote on the spot market. The To-arrive bids
for oats were 6.00 cents higher from 4.2450-4.2950, the basis was steady from
30-35 cents over the May futures.
Soybeans: US 1 Yellow Soybeans were 16.25 cents lower at 14.2325 with the
basis 51 cents over the July futures. The to-arrive bids for soybeans are: May
at 14.1825, June at 13.7725 July at 13.6625; October at 11.7525 and November at
