There are some parts I agree with, such as no limits, chidren in school stay on till 26, and guaranteed coverage even with pre-existing conditions, But adding more to medicare when medicare wasn't designed for that,
the hidden "taxes", cutting medicare payments to doctors, etc, - as a few examples is going to far...
I believe congress can do better to help we the people get lower cost coverage and protection for catestropic health problems...

The first page in which the court said the act was unconstituional was correct. Obama and his crew adamantly said this program contained no taxes, it was presented to the court in that way. If Obama had been honest and described costs of his plan as a tax it would never have been passed by congress. Roberts went beyond his calling as a judge to re frame it. Governments are too big now, they are very poor managers, the Demos are on the wrong track, about 50% of citizens are on the govt payroll in one way or another.
To Lorne: Please read the actual Supreme Court Opinion - they thoroughly explain that it is NOT a tax - and Obama is correct! Reading the Opinion is the best thing you can do. Get the original information from the actual document. No misunderstandings, then. It's all over the internet. Thanks.
sorry Liz, this IS a TAX. and this whole thing is so wrong.
agree about needing protection for castastrophobic health problems, but I have found that it is better to save a little money to pay for well dr. visits, dentists, etc.out of pocket
Good idea, Liz. Read Justice Roberts' decision. He clearly states that the only way
this passes constitutional muster is that it is a tax and Congress has the right to
set taxes.
The entire law would not have been necessary if Insurance companies and Doctors had not been screwing us for years. the insurance companies and their lobbyist are still making fools of the republican congress and most of the public.
All of this would not be needed if our congressmen had the guts to put limits on how much people can sue for.
But that would be a awfullot to expect out of a bunch of mostly lawyers.
