KYTX reports as the price of cattle increases the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raiser’s Association encourages cattle producers to constantly count their herds and take precautions.
Cattle rustlers are expected to get back to work as beef prices increase. To keep herds safe, the TSCRA advises to lock pens when they’re not monitored and to change locks when there’s a change in employment. As tractor theft increases ranchers are advised to register their farm equipment with the state through HEAT or other databases so authorities know who to contact if they notice something suspicious.
TSCRA Special Ranger Larry Hand said he’s currently working on four cattle theft cases involving 22 cattle.
