How to respond to calving surges

Breeding records allow you to accurately predict surges in calvings. These calving surges usually overload the calf-care system, says Sam Leadley, calf management specialist with Attica (N.Y.) Veterinary Associates.

In the February 2012 issue of Calving Ease, Leadley explains how to manage these overloads rather than “muddle through” them and compromise calf care.
