A recent installment of the Purdue Dairy Digest podcast series focuses on the effect of feeding condensed distillers solubles to dairy cows. 

"Variability in the fat content of dried distillers grains with solubles, which are often referred to as DDGS, make dairy producers hesitant to utilize this byproduct in their dairy diets," says Sarah Fraley, graduate student at Purdue University. "Most of the variation in fat levels results from the amount of condensed distillers solubles, or CDS, added to the distillers grains."

During the podcast, Fraley explains the results of a study that examined the effect of sudden additions of CDS on milk production, milk components and rumen parameters of mid-lactation cows.
