Heifer management workshops in Pennsylvania

“Your future herd is only as good as today’s heifers, so manage them well,” advise organizers of a traveling heifer management workshop that will be presented by Penn State University.

The day-long workshop, which will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in each of its six planned locations, will cover:

  • Heifer nutrition and management
  • Health and vaccination programs
  • Reproduction and synchronization
  • Housing systems

Dates and locations are:

  • Jan. 27 – Westmoreland County (Greensburg)
  • Feb. 23 – Franklin County (Chambersburg)
  • Feb. 28 – Blair County (Martinsburg)
  • March 1 – Bradford County (Troy)
  • March 6 – Mercer County (Mercer)
  • March 8 – Lancaster County (East Earl)
