Texas was the bright spot in the dairy heifer markets this month, with top-quality Holstein springers up from $1,125-1,500 last month to $1,200-1,575 this month. Springer prices remained steady throughout the rest of the country, with the exception of Wisconsin. Top-quality heifers there fell from $1,400-1,600 last month to $1,250 to 1,500 this month, possibly due to increasingly dry conditions in the upper Midwest.  Calf prices also fell slightly in Wisconsin and more precipitously in Pennsylvania, down from $200-240 last month to $170-200 this month.
