Flavored calf starter?

Many of the foods we consume today contain added flavoring to make them more appealing and enjoyable to eat. But would flavoring added to calf starter make starter more appealing to calves and improve intakes?

Research has been conducted over the years by several scientists to determine if adding flavors is beneficial to improving calf performance. This research is discussed by Neil Broadwater, extension dairy educator, and Hugh Chester-Jones, animal scientist at the University of Minnesota Southern Research and Outreach Center, in the latest University of Minnesota dairy newsletter.
