The July series of Pennsylvania’s Dairy PROS meetings will include representatives from dairy cooperatives discussing the current state of the Northeast milk shed. Those who participate in the meetings will be given the opportunity to share what they are seeing in their local regions during the roundtable discussion of Dairy PROS. During the "Take it to the Farm" segment, Dan McFarland, engineer, and Greg Strait, educator, both from Penn State Cooperative Extension, will discuss cow comfort and its effect on milk production from an engineering standpoint.
Dates and locations for “A Milkshed Makeover” include:
Tuesday, July 10 — Farm & Home Center, 1383 Arcadia Road, Lancaster, Pa.
Thursday, July 12 — AgChoice Farm Credit office, 109 Farm Credit Drive, Chambersburg, Pa.
Tuesday, July 17 — Celebration Hall, 2280 Commercial Blvd., State College, Pa.
Thursday, July 19 — King's Restaurant, 1920 Leesburg Road, Grove City, Pa.
The meetings in Lancaster, Chambersburg and State College will be held from 8 a.m. — 9:30 a.m., with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. The time of the meeting in Grove City will be announced at a later date.
