A good youngstock raising program is essential to the continued success of any dairy operation. The system must compliment the individual dairy's needs and management style.

On Jan. 8, from 8:30-10 a.m. (EDT/EST), Penn State Extension educators will present “Youngstock Housing Needs,” a Technology Tuesdays webinar.

Topics include: determining system size, group sizes, calf and heifer housing alternatives, animal treatment and management needs, designing a total system and evaluating usefulness of existing facilities.

The webinar will be presented by Jud Heinrichs, professor in the Penn State Department of Animal Science, and Penn State Extension engineers Dan McFarland and John Tyson.
