At most recent auctions, prices of springer heifers were generally a little weaker compared to the previous month. The exception was the Turlock, Calif. auction where top-end springer heifers topped out at $1,800. Prices for dairy heifers calves were mostly unchanged from last month, topping out at $150 to $160 at the Stratford, Wis., and Sulphur Springs, Texas, locations, reports Greg Scheer, dairy analyst with Doane Advisory Services in St. Louis, Mo.
