Most recent dairy heifer auctions showed steady to firm prices for springing heifers compared to a month ago. Top springing heifers topped out at $1,395 in Stratford Wis., compared to $1,350 at that location a month ago. Heifer calf prices topped at $150 at both Stratford, Wis., and Sulphur Springs, Texas, compared to the top price last month of $190 and $185, respectively, reports Greg Scheer, dairy analyst with Doane Advisory Services in St. Louis, Mo.
