Springer heifer prices soften

Springer heifer prices have pulled back recently. The top price for supreme/top springer heifer at the most recent auctions was $1,750 in Turlock, Calif., after topping out at $1,925 a month ago. Top prices in New Holland, Pa., were also $1,750. Heifer calf prices held near unchanged, topping out at $240 in Sulphur Springs, Texas and $215 in Stratford, Wis., reports Greg Scheer, dairy analyst with Doane Advisory Services in St. Louis, Mo.
