Results from research trials by DuPont Pioneer demonstrate the effect of seeding rate and management practices on corn yield potential. In the research trials, the greatest overall average yield was achieved at 38,000 plants oer acre in an intensive management system.

After years of extensive testing of hybrid response to plant population at dozens of locations across the country, Pioneer developed the Planting Rate Estimator. With the tool, growers are able to select their own hybrid, grain price and seed cost for a fully customized planting rate recommendation.
