Podcast offers advice on MUN

Protein has traditionally been the most expensive ingredient in the diet of lactating dairy cows. Doing the best job possible of utilizing protein in the diet can not only save money, but improve feed efficiency and help to decrease nitrogen excretion, says Tamilee Nennich, Purdue Extension dairy specialist.

Milk urea nitrogen (MUN) values are a quick and easy way to measure protein and nitrogen utilization in dairy cows. Nennich discusses this subject in the latest Purdue Dairy Digest podcast.
