Advance your reproductive knowledge

Herds studied by the Penn State Profitability Assessment Dairy Tool show reproductive performance is often the most common bottleneck to profitability.

That’s because reproductive performance impacts the bulk tank. Longer days open and extended calving intervals lead to fewer days of peak milk production.

To learn how to overcome reproductive challenges on your dairy and improve your reproductive knowledge, a series of workshops are being offered covering topics including:

  • Heat synchronization methods.
  • Blood pregnancy tests.
  • Using genomics to improve herd genetics.
  • Managing reproductive diseases.

The sessions will be offered:

  • March 15 in Huntingdon, Pa.
  • March 17 in East Earl, Pa.
  • March 22 in Mercer, Pa.
  • March 24 in Canton, Pa.

Cost is $50 per person, and each workshop begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 4 p.m.
