Bloggers wage war against Kraft Mac & Cheese

A duo of health food bloggers has gone to war with Kraft, petitioning against their use of artificial food dyes in the iconic Macaroni & Cheese. Their petition on has since gathered more than 277,000 supporters and asks Kraft to remove yellow #5 and yellow #6 dyes from its food.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the bloggers claim that these dyes have been linked to hyperactivity in children and other health problems.

Kraft, however, points out that the dyes are safe and legal in the United States.

"The safety and quality of our products is our highest priority and we take consumer concerns very seriously," Kraft said in a statement. "We carefully follow the laws and regulations in the countries where our products are sold."
