Sire summary results:  The charts in this area provide the most recent sire summary information on domestic and international bulls ranked on net merit provided by USDA and updated this May. The tables below make the following comparisons: Top 50 domestic bulls ranked on net merit, Top 50 international bulls ranked on net merit and the Top 100 bulls (domestic & international) ranked on net merit. The tables also contain the bulls' rankings for PTA Somatic Cell Score (SCS). In addition, genetic recessive genes, as well as CVM test results, are noted as follows:

*TV = Tested negative CVM
*CV = CVM carrier
*MF = Mule Foot carrier
*RC = Red Holstein carrier
*TR = Non-red carrier by DNA test
*TM = Tested negative Mule Foot

Many dairy producers prefer to use indexes when picking bulls. When selecting which index to use, it's helpful to see how the top-ranked bulls for each index perform on other traits, such as milk or protein production. Each of the tables contains a section that you can use to compare individual bulls with the four most popular indexes, as well as PTA Somatic Cell Score.
