A barn fire killed about 60 cows early Saturday morning at a dairy in northwest Pennsylvania.
Fire-fighters described seeing a "huge glow in the sky" as they drove to the fire in the early morning darkness.
The cause of the fire is unknown, but it isn’t considered suspicious, Dick Massung, assistant chief of the Cambridge Springs Volunteer Fire Department told the Meadville Tribune. Read more.
Massung identified the owner of the farm as Jim Morton, of the Cambridge Springs, Pa., area.
“He lost everything,” Massung said of Morton’s dairy herd. “He was woken up by the fire and the whole back of the barn was on fire.”
