A well-known dairy farmer from upstate New York died Wednesday evening in a farm accident.

Douglas Murray, 83, was working alone on the farm when the accident occurred, according to this article from the Watertown Daily Times.

A family member told the newspaper that Mr. Murray was sharpening the blades on a tractor when the bracing that held up the equipment came loose, pinning him.

Mr. Murray was the “ideal person you’d want to know,” said Cornell Cooperative Extension agriculture outreach educator Arthur Boderman. “You’d be blessed to know him.”
