Upcoming webinar on genomics

An upcoming dairy cattle webinar, brought to you by the DAIReXNET community at eXtension.org, will examine the potential and pitfalls of genomic selection. The discussion will be led by Dr. Chad Dechow, Pennsylvania State University, on Jan. 14, 2013, from noon to 1:00 p.m. Central Time.

Dechow will review genomic technology and implementation, comparisons of early genomic predictions to actual daughter proofs, a discussion of inbreeding, and how genomics can be used as a herd management tool.
