According to Fox News, the Environmental Protection Agency has released personal information on potentially thousands of farmers and ranchers to environmental groups.

The information included names, e-mail addresses, phone numbers and personal addresses.

News of EPA’s actions drew the criticism of U.S. Senator John Thune (R-S.D.)

“The EPA has threatened the health and safety of agriculture producers and their families and has damaged the security of our food system,” Thune said. “There is a growing gap of trust between America’s farm and ranch families and the EPA. Much of this lack of trust is due to EPA’s aggressive regulatory agenda.”

The EPA has reportedly asked the environmental groups to return the information.
