When a mom objects to the noise coming from her daughter’s bedroom, she tells the birthday revelers to “take it down a notch.”
There in the midst of it all is a bovine party animal which turns to the birthday girl and says, “Thanks for hanging me out to dry there, Madison.”
Madison is shown holding an ice cream cone.
The 30-second commercial will air during next Sunday’s Super Bowl. (See video above.)
The commercial is part of the “Make Us Part of Your Family” national advertising campaign by the California Milk Advisory Board.
The idea is to show that California dairy products are a part of family life — from meals to special occasions and celebrations, CMAB spokesperson Jennifer Giambroni told Dairy Herd Network.
"Ninety-nine percent of California dairy farms are family-owned, and California dairy products are a trusted, important part of family meals," says Michael Freeman, vice president of advertising for the California Milk Advisory Board. "This campaign gives us a chance to highlight both in an entertaining way."

Report AbuseNow how's this ad help sell milk?

Report AbuseI am not a professional ad maker but if I was a California dairy producer, I would question how my $ were being spent.

Report AbuseWhere is the nutritional aspect of promoting dairy here? I don't see this as a positive ad for the dairy industry.

Report AbuseVery disappointing. Not how I would want my $ spent or industry represnted.

Report AbuseI have to agree with all the other comments. Being a PA farmer, I could care less about CA Dairy products, however, I don't think this ad does the dairy industry in general any favors. Lets be real, in a health sensitive world, we are showing an overweight girl eating ice cream. Not much benefit on the nutritious side.

Report Abusethat's my 4 year old daughter you ass...and next time you want to talk about someones weight you should look in the mirror...she is exactly 50 lbs and 3' 7" tall, according to the federal BMI chart she is a 19.0 which sits between 18 and 24 that is considered normal...besides that, your missing the point....IT'S FREAKING FUNNY. And Funny sells.

Report AbuseTerrible ad, almost every person is overweight, especially the girl with the ice cream cone, as RDW mentioned.
Why couldn't they use normal size adults and why are kids acting as if they are on a sugar high?
CA got enough trouble for including chocolate milk in schools, now this ad with a talking cow with horns???
William Calcaterra
Report AbuseIt's a blonde wig with dutch style braids...not horns..and again...FUNNY.

Report AbuseThis could have been so much better, airing on super bowl time the $ spent. What was the ad agency thinking?

Report Abuseyour guys are idiots...this is why she is being paid obscene amounts of money to make this commercial...my daughter Madison, yeah the one you all are calling fat...she is 50 lbs and 3 foot 7 inches...that makes her a 19.0 on the BMI chart which is smack dab in the middle of normal...She might look a little chunky, but that's why they are paying her,,,,,because its FUNNY.
