Minneapolis Weekly Grain Summary
Prices for the week ending Thursday, October 8, 2015
**The prices for spring wheat on the spot rail market are now quoted
Delivered Chicago for Beyond.**
The milling wheat prices were mixed but mostly lower, with exception to the 15% protein
category, over the last week. Receipts on the spot market continue to be very light over
the last week with both buyers and sellers focusing more on soybean and corn harvests.
The light amount of wheat on the trading floor is still good quality and the demand has
centered around the 15% proteins for millers.
**Spring Wheat: Prices are for US 1 Dark Northern Spring Wheat with less
than 2.0 ppm Vomitoxin. The 12 pct protein had no quote. The low 13's had no quote.
The 13.5's were 4.75 cents higher from 6.2100N-6.3100* with the basis 5 cents higher from
90N to 100* cents over the December futures Chicago for Beyond. The low 14's were 10.25
to .25 cents lower from 6.4100N-6.5100N, the basis was 10 cents lower to steady from 110N
to 120N cents over the December futures Chicago for Beyond. The 14.5's were 30.25 to
10.25 cents lower from 6.2600B-6.6100N, the basis was 30 to 10 cents lower from 95B to
130N cents over the December futures Chicago for Beyond. The 15's were 9.75 to 7.75
cents higher from 6.9100A-7.2600, the basis was 10 to 8 cents higher from 160A to 195
cents over the December futures delivered Chicago for Beyond. The 12 pct Hard Red Winter
Wheat on the spot floor had no quote. The 20 day to-arrive truck delivery for 12 pct
protein HRW bid into Minneapolis was 4.00 cents lower at 5.3350, the basis was steady at
30 cents over the September Hard Red Winter Wheat futures.
Barley: Robust Malting Barley 60 pct or better plump max. 2.0 ppm vomitoxin
had no quote. The to-arrive bid for 1.0 ppm vomitoxin rail delivered to
Minneapolis had no quote. Feed Barley delivered into Duluth closed the week with no bid.
Feed Barley delivered into Minneapolis was 5 cents higher with a bid of 2.55.
Corn: US 2 Yellow Corn was .50 cents lower at 3.3325, the basis was 3 cents lower at
58 cents under the December futures. The to-arrive bids for corn are: L/H Oct 3.3825 Nov
3.4625 and River Open at 3.7975.
Oats: US 2 or better Oats had no quote on the spot market. The To-arrive bids for oats
were 2.25 cents lower from 2.2875-2.7375, the basis was steady at 10 to 55 cents over the
Soybeans: US 1 Yellow Soybeans were 4.00 cents lower at 8.4125, the basis was 8 cents
lower at 40 cents under the November futures. The to-arrive bids for soybeans are: Oct
8.4125, Nov 8.4625 and River Open at 8.6650.
