Federal order Class III & IV milk prices were lower in November, according to the monthly price announcement from USDA's Ag Marketing Service.

November 2014 prices, compared to previous month and year, include:

• Class III: $21.94/cwt., down $1.88 from October 2014, but $3.11 more than November 2013. The 2014 Y-T-D average is $22.75/cwt., up $4.85 from the January-November 2013 average of $17.90/cwt.

The November federal order Class III price is $3.24 more than the comparable California Class 4b price, announced Dec. 2. Year-to-date, the Class III average is $2.35 higher than the California 4b average price.

• Class IV: $18.21/cwt., down $3.14 from October 2014, and $2.31 less than November 2013. The 2014 Y-T-D average is $22.58/cwt., up $3.75 from the January-November 2013 average of $18.83/cwt.
