USDA’s preliminary estimate of the November 2014 U.S. average all-milk price, at $23.40/cwt., was down $1.50 from October’s revised estimate, as prices have begun their descent.

Year-to-date, the 2014 average all-milk price stands at $24.34/cwt., up $4.47 from the same period in 2013.

Just three of the 23 major dairy states saw average milk prices at $25.00/cwt. or higher in November, compared with 15 states the month before, according to the USDA/NASS Ag Prices report. Largest month-to-month declines were in Washington and California.
