Suicide prevention Webinar

In the wake of another dairy producer suicide the California Dairy Quality Assurance Program, the Kings County Agriculture Commissioner’s office and Colorado State University will be offering a webinar on farmer stress, depression and suicide prevention for professionals allied with the dairy industry.
Field staff from producer and processor organizations, veterinarians, agriculture lenders, regulatory field staff and various educational groups working with producers, such as the University of California Cooperative Extension livestock advisors, Natural Resources Conservation Services field staff and other consultants to participate.
The presentation will be given by Robert Fetsch, an extension specialist in human development and family studies at Colorado State University. Fetsch is nationally recognized for his research and outreach in mental health issues for farmers. In addition, Fetsch has a dairy background.
The Webinar will be held Thursday, June 11, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. PST.
