Emergency dairy meeting in the Northeast

An emergency meeting to provide information to dairy producers has been set for Friday, July 17 at 10 a.m. on the campus of Morrisville State College in
“Disastrously low milk prices have created a crisis in our industry,” according to David Rama of the Cattle Exchange in
Sponsored by the New York Holstein Association with support from The Cattle Exchange and several other dairy organizations, the session will feature John Bunting of
“If nothing is done, industry experts say we could lose 20 to 30 percent of our family dairy farmers, large and small,” Rama explains. This would be a tragedy not only for the families involved but for the structure of the entire industry and the American consumer, he emphasizes.
Beth Keene, professor of dairy science at Morrisville, explains that the agricultural program there wants to do its part to safeguard the wellbeing of the industry. She explains the meeting will be held in the
