Ratka named Vita Plus dairy technical sales specialist

Dr. Kevin Ratka joined Vita Plus as a dairy technical sales specialist.  Based in central Minnesota, Ratka will work closely with fellow dairy consultants to troubleshoot on-farm challenges and provide technical leadership and training to the Vita Plus dairy sales team.

Ratka earned his bachelor’s degree and DVM from the University of Minnesota.  He started his career at a veterinary clinic in central Wisconsin before returning to central Minnesota, where he has practiced veterinary medicine for the past 10 years, conducting herd health programs, ultrasounds and treatment protocols.

Holland, Wilcox join Nutrinsic executive team

Alltech appoints Connolly as chief innovation officer

Alltech appointed vice president Aidan Connolly as Chief Innovation Officer, connected to the company’s global research department. In his expanded role, he will work with Dr. Karl Dawson, vice president and Chief Scientific Officer, involved with Alltech’s innovation pipeline and leading the commercialization of the company’s research programs.

Connolly’s research team will primarily focus on developing nutrition-based technologies using nutrigenomics, the science of how diet affects gene expression. Based at Alltech’s Center for Nutrigenomics and Applied Animal Nutrition at Alltech’s corporate headquarters near Lexington, Ky., Connolly will also maintain his current responsibilities as vice president, corporate accounts.

Cargill named Sarena Lin as president of the the company's global compound feed business unit. Lin was formerly corporate vice president and head of Strategy and Business Development at Cargill. Lin replaces Joe Stone, who served as president of the compound feed business unit for the last six years and was promoted to become a leader of the Cargill Animal Nutrition platform, which is made up of the company's compound feed business and premix business units.
