Dairy farmers who ship cattle to Tyson Foods won’t have to go through further animal care and handling certification if they have completed the FARM Animal Care Version 3.0.
Tyson has accepted the Farm Program as equivalent to the Beef Quality Assurance Program. However, dairy farmers must submit certification documents to Tyson of having completed Farm 3.0 by January 1, reports the National Milk Producers Federation.
Farmers have to provide their auction markets with one of the three following documents to prove they have met equivalency requirements:
- Completed FARM Animal Care Version 3.0 evaluation or newer
- FARM Program supplied letter indicating completion of Version 3.0 or newer evaluation
- Signed Livestock Marketing Association (LMA) affidavit (download)
