Market Monitor: Springers Mixed, Auctions Restricted

Yearling heifers. ( Maureen Hanson )

Holstein springer values lost ground in California and Wisconsin in the past month, but saw a slight uptick in Idaho. New Holland Stables in Pennsylvania reported dairy prices in July after a 3-month hiatus due to COVID-19. Livestock markets across the country continue to post COVID-related guidelines, including attendance by buyers only/no sellers or spectators; required face coverings; no children; and closed restaurants. Holstein heifer calf prices remain under $100 nationwide, but approximately doubled in the past month in Wisconsin.
