Dairy Today Wins Big
Dairy Today magazine and dairytoday.com won more than a dozen writing and web awards at the recent Agricultural Media Summit in Buffalo, N.Y.
MONTICELLO, Minn. -- Dairy Today magazine and dairytoday.com won more than a dozen writing and web awards, including best agricultural website, at the recent Agricultural Media Summit in Buffalo, N.Y.
Dairytoday.com took first place in websites in the American Agricultural Editors Association (AAEA) Digital and Social Media Awards program. Fellow Farm Journal Media website, Agweb.com, placed second. These awards are notable since the websites compete against all agricultural websites available to farmers, and they affirm Farm Journal Media’s dominant market share in this marketing space.
Catherine Merlo, Western and online editor for Dairy Today, also was named a Level 5 Master Writer by AAEA. The recognition is one of the highest—and most sought after—awards bestowed by AAEA.
In the Livestock Publications Council contest, Dairy Today won six first place awards, five second place awards and three honorable mentions. It far outpaced all of its competitors.
Merlo won three of the first place awards, for News story, Instructional story and Feature/Human Interest story.
Jim Dickrell, Dairy Today editor, won two first place awards for Marketing story and Farm/Ranch profile.
The magazine also won a first place award for Event/Show Program for its 2012 World Dairy Expo Official Program.
Dairytoday.com won a second place in the LPC website division, and an honorable mention for its Dairy Today eUpdate weekly online newsletter.
