Diesel Prices Could Jump This Fall
The Minneapolis Star Tribune is reporting that diesel prices could jump this fall, just when silage choppers and combines start harvesting.
Tony Headrick, with CHS Hedging, Inver Grove Heights, Minn. says planned maintenance at refineries could cause reduced volumes of diesel. He says diesel prices could jump 15¢ to 30¢ per gallon.
With margins already tight, topping off diesel in on-farm tanks in the next few days or weeks is prudent business planning, he says.
