U.S. Dairy Exports of Skim Milk Powder Set Record
Despite a dismal year for U.S. dairy exports, non-fat dry milk/skim milk powder jumped 36% in December and ended the year up some 3%, a record volume.
Almost 560,000 metric tons of the stuff were exported in 2015, with 46,199 tons leaving U.S. shores in December alone. More than 60% of the December sales growth went to Mexico, but Peru also imported record amounts, up 122% from its previous record set in November 2015.
