Donate to FFA, Get Free Custard on May 5
Giving to charity can leave a sweet taste in your mouth, and on May 5, 2016, Culver’s plans to make that statement ring true with a free scoop of custard to anyone who donates to the National FFA Organization.
Culver’s “Scoops of Thanks Day” helps raise money for local or state FFA chapters or other agricultural organizations. In 2015, the group raised more than $40,000. Those who want to participate need to donate a minimum of $1 to receive the free custard.
This is part of an ongoing initiative by Culver’s called “Thank You Farmers.” The program acknowledges farmers’ efforts in providing a safe, sustainable food supply. The group has raised nearly a million dollars for the National FFA organization, local FFA chapters and other agricultural organizations.
The National FFA Organization (formerly Future Farmers of America) consists of an all-time high of nearly 630,000 members and 7,757 chapters across the U.S., Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Texas, California, Georgia, Oklahoma and Missouri boast as the top five membership states. Founded in 1928, the National FFA Organization receives no federal funding.
