Sometimes when life gets you down you just have to dance.

Milk prices are still on the decline and processors dropping milk contracts hasn't given dairy farmers much to be happy about lately around the country. For dairy farmers Katie Dotterer-Pyle and Jessica Peters they decided to "Shake It Off" and start the #DairyDanceOff.

Dotterer-Pyle, from Cow Comfort Inn Dairy in Union Bridge, Maryland and Peters, from Spruce Row Farm in Meadville, Pennsylvania, danced in their parlors and lip synced to Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off":

Dairy Dance Off Challenge

Last week, a friend of mine Katie Dotterer-Pyle of Cow Comfort Inn Dairy, posted a video of her version of stress relief. Cole and I immediately responded with our own dance video and an idea was born. Watch the video to accept our #DairyDanceOff challenge then share it! Help us show the world that even though we're going through a rough patch, you can't keep a good farmer down. ? My name is Jess and I love dairy farming because it's important. Plus, I get to spend every day working with my family (people and cows), producing a nutritious, delicious, SAFE food that helps feed the world. Are you up to our challenge? #DairyDanceOff #aKDPJMoneyCollaboration #epicdanceparties #seejessfarm Posted by Spruce Row Farm on Sunday, March 25, 2018

They posted the video to their farm's Facebook pages and to other social media platforms.

Dairy farmers in other parts of the country decided to take on the challenge and danced to their favorite tunes:

Your #dairydanceoff submission for tonight comes from a hometown Wisconsin boy who doesn't know how to dance!!! Do I get points for slamming a glass of milk in the middle though? Lemme say I'm not the dancer, I really only do the epic lip syncs and karyoke sessions... usually when I'm alone in the tractor! Enjoy ? Posted by Sam Ziegler on Tuesday, March 27, 2018

Here you go Stephanie Brockway and Angela Peck Metcalf ? Challenge done! Alan and I can't wait to see your video! Your turn now! #DairyDanceOff / Cow Confort Inn Dairy ??? Posted by Jessica Lobdell on Tuesday, March 27, 2018

Nora had the harmonica primed up and Landon was in a dancing (aka boot stomping) mood so we took the #dairydanceoff challenge. This was completely unplanned and unscripted and here’s what we came up with. As you can see only one of us in the family enjoys dancing, oh wait make that two, Landon is becoming found of it too. Thank you to all who support us and trust us as farmers. We sure are thankful to farm each day and the kids are glad they have plenty of space to kick up their boots and they are glad the cows are so attentive to their shenanigans. And why should we be like everyone else and have good music in their video when Nora can create our own! ? She’s got a future in either dairy farming or harmonica playing/dancing we will let her decide. ? Please like, love, laugh or share our post so that #dairydanceoff keeps spreading the love of dairy! ?? Posted by Eat Farm Love on Wednesday, March 28, 2018
