Three dairy products make World Ag Expo’s hot list

Considering that the World Ag Expo takes place in the nation’s No. 1 milk-producing county, it’s no surprise that three of its 2012 Top 10 New Products are directly related to dairying.

All 10 products were featured Feb. 14–16 at the 45th annual event in Tulare, Calif. A group of farmers, ranchers and industry professionals selected the winners.

  • The ai24 SCR HR-Tag, by Micro Dairy Logic and Semex, tracks cow rumination and activity levels to provide unique insight into cow well-being and reproductive status. • The Hoof-Tec Complete Footbath System, by Hoof-Tec Footbath Solutions, is a one-step process that simplifies control of hoof diseases in dairy cows. An innovative pump dispenses a premixed liquid solution into water at just the right concentration. At a cost of just 7¢ to 10¢ per cow, it’s highly effective against bacteria without causing tissue damage that can slow down the healing process and lead to infection.
