In the past 10 years milk production has risen 13.4% while the number of cows has gone up 0.8%, according to the latest milk production report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Milk production is slated to be down 100 million lb. from last month in the latest World Agricultural Demand and Estimates report from USDA, while prices could be almost $2 cwt lower than last February.
In the latest USDA World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates report, the overall milk price was unchanged despite a projected increase in milk production.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has lowered it's milk price projection for 2018 by $0.80/cwt in the latest World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates.
