Butter Prices Get Beat Up

Class IV milk saw August fall 13 cents to $18.81/cwt, September fell 19 to $18.91, and October plummeted 39 cents to $18.95/cwt.

Class IV milk struggled to bounce back after Butter was beat up on Wednesday. The CME spot trade saw cheese hold for second day unchanged with no loads trading. Blocks held at $1.96/lb with Barrels at $1.87/lb. Butter however, tumbled 4 cents lower to $2.63/lb. Grade A Non Fat Dry Milk was 2 cents lower adding to the pressure on Class IV milk, finishing at $1.12 1/4/lb. Dry Whey also held unchanged at $0.26/lb.

Class IV milk saw August fall 13 cents to $18.81/cwt, September fell 19 to $18.91, and October plummeted 39 cents to $18.95/cwt. 2024 held mostly unchanged iwth only January slipping 5 cents to $18.95 and Feb - May holding at $19.00 Class IV.

Class III milk saw small gains after a puke lower on Tuesday. August was up 4 cents to $17.49, September was unchaged at $17.53, and October gained 8 cents to $17.97/cwt. 2024 markets held mostly unchanged with limited to no trading. January at $18.11, Feb at $18.07 and March at $18.15/cwt.

Grain markets continue to slide lower on more promising weather forecasts. December corn fell 6 ¾ cents to $5.00 1/2, November Soybeans fell 20 cents to $13.21 ¼ with soybean meal falling $6.10 in the December contract to $392.20/ton.
