Class III and IV Finish the Week Strong

Class III and IV markets finished the week off with a bang.

Class III and IV markets finished the week off with a bang. Class III added 27 cents in the month of December while January was up 48 cents and both Feb and March were up 33 cents each. Months beyond Q1 2022 ranged from 13 to 26 cents higher. At the close, the full year 2022 average was nearing $19/cwt. Class IV traded much the same as Class III. The January price jumped 41 cents to $19.61/cwt while all other months were 5 - 25 cents higher.

Spot product markets had little change on Friday. Block and barrel cheese were both unchanged as was non-fat dry milk. Butter gained two cents as 10 loads traded while whey was up 1.25 cents on bids.

Grains rallied Friday with corn up 7 cents and nearing recent highs. Soybeans jumped 20 cents and meal added $7-$9/ton. The wheat complex declined 11-24 cents/bu.
