Milk Prices Hold Steady

Milk markets put in one of its quieter days over the past month on Monday. The May 2024 Class III contract settled a nickel higher while June closed 9 cents stronger while and July was up 3. August through December ranged from 7 cents lower to 3 cents stronger. Class IV markets were unchanged across the board.

CME spot product markets were also quiet. Block cheese, barrels, and nonfat dry milk all settled unchanged on the day. Butter closed a half cent softer at $2.965/lb while whey was off three quarters of a cent to $0.375/lb.

Grain market results were a mixed bag. Corn and soybeans were mostly unchanged losing between a half cent and penny on the day. Soybean meal rose almost $10/ton to $355/ton. Wheat saw the Chicago market down 13 cents, Kansas was off 3 cents, and Minneapolis was up a couple cents.
