Dairy producers can once again sign up for coverage under the Dairy Margin Coverage (DMC) program. The National Milk Producers Federation is urging producers to sign up, saying that rising costs are eroding dairy margins despite higher milk prices. They say by calculating assistance via margin rather than a target price, DMC offers a measure of protection against the current cost volatility that is challenging many producers. Farmers can sign up for DMC now thru Dec. 7.
