Holstein springer values saw a healthy upward bump in the past month in California and Pennsylvania, while remaining essentially flat in Wisconsin and Idaho. Meanwhile, the U.S. dairy herd keeps growing. According to the most recent Dairy Market Report by the National Milk Producers Federation and Dairy Management, Inc., the national dairy cow inventory at the end of February 2021 had grown by nearly 1% with 88,000 more lactating dairy cows year-over-year.
