Lactalis will increase fresh mozzarella production at its Nampa site.
Lactalis American Group this week announced plans to increase fresh mozzarella production at its Nampa facility.
The expansion will make the plant the largest of Lactalis’ plants worldwide, and increase the international company’s demand for the region’s milk.
Construction of the 61,300-square-foot plant will begin in March and is expected to operating in a year. The company will increase mozzarella production to 40 million pounds per year, up from 7 million pounds, to meet growing global demand. The expansion will add about 70 jobs.
