The Wisconsin Farm Bureau has adopted a new set of policy guidelines in the hope they will improve milk prices. Among them: Lower the Federal somatic cell count limit for Grade A milk to 400,000 cells/ml.
“This is policy in support of the concept,” says Casey Langan, WFB spokesperson.

The Idaho State Department of Agriculture will also propose the SCC limit for raw milk sold to the public be lowered to 500,000 for cow milk (and 750,000 for goat milk) next year.
